What does it mean to be a Mystery Shopper?

Becoming a Shopper for Secret Shopper® means you will evaluate the quality of service as an undercover customer, anonymously assessing various aspects of the customer experience.

The goal is to provide objective feedback on employee behavior, service efficiency, product knowledge, and adherence to company standards. Shoppers complete a variety of detailed reports based on their observations. By gathering data from Shoppers, businesses can identify areas for improvement, enhance customer satisfaction, and maintain consistent service quality.


Guidelines For Secret Shoppers

We hope that you will enjoy the shopping projects that you perform for Secret Shooper. We consider our shoppers / contractors to be the most important component in the process of providing our clients with valuable and actionable feedback. We want you to be a successful and informed shopper and have set forth guidelines to help you to achieve this goal. Please review the following guidelines carefully: * Reliable internet access is required. You will need to access your Dispatch Assignment Sheet / Instruction materials and submit your completed surveys online via our email. Without internet access, you cannot mystery shop for us. * You will be responsible for reviewing and understanding all information / guidelines pertaining to each shop you are assigned or accept prior to performing it. Please ensure that you allow adequate time to fully familiarize yourself with the requirements in advance of the shop date. If you do not completely understand the guidelines as written, you must contact the detail that will come in mail as Memo/Letter.


Getting Started - Shop Projects

  • It is Secret Shopper's goal to provide our clients with a true "consumer’s eye view" of their establishments and protocols. As a mystery shopper, you should consider yourself a regular consumer having a normal hospitality, retail or service visit and evaluate the establishment in that frame of mind. Your goal should be to observe and report, not critique. It is important that you record both the positive and negative aspects of every shop. Do not disclose your status as a mystery shopper to the client or carry survey forms to your shopping sites while on your shop or any time thereafter. Be discreet while taking notes, and be careful not to ask questions that could reveal your role as a mystery shopper.
